Important Shop Note:
My studio was destroyed in the Asheville NC River Arts District. I have marked all items that were previously still in stock as “sold out” until I can fully sanitize and inventory what survived.
Please note shipping will be delayed on orders placed between Nov 9th through 23rd. Shipping will resume on all orders Nov 25th. My website will be updated with more new pottery saved from the flood on Nov 29th at 10am ET.
If you’d like to support me through a donation, I have a GoFundMe set up with more story about my life pivot.
Good news—I realized more pieces are safe and not broken, including a bin full of wood/soda ash fired Kazegama pots. Spoiler: All the horsehair pots photographed here marked “sold out” did not survive. You can enjoy their beauty through the photographs I thankfully took before the storm.

Special Collection!
The pieces noted “with wood ash and soda ash” were fired in a special kiln. Some pieces were fired along with the recent solar eclipse, which notes “Eclipse Series" in the title!
The Kazegama Kiln is a contemporary hybrid wood kiln. The word Kazegama means “wind kiln”. This kiln is a cross draft kiln where the fire enters the kiln violently, hitting and moving around the pots from the front to the back and out the stack.
At 2300 degrees F, wood ash soon followed by soda ash was introduced into the kiln and held at this temperature for periods to allow the ash to float around the kiln, hitting and melting on the surfaces of pots to glaze them! These pots are not glazed on the outside before going into the kiln, the surfaces are created solely from the movement of the flame, heat, and ash throughout the kiln. Each pot is unique and tells a beautiful story as it emerges from the fire and ashes.
These pieces are fully functional - food safe and dishwasher safe.
